The 3rd International Ligt Art Award 2019, endowed with 10,000 euros, goes to Jacqueline Hen.
Her installation “Light High” is a stage-like space, which is multiplied in its dimensions by a mirrored ceiling and a floor of water and exaggerated illusionistically. Grid-shaped lighting elements are used in a varied choreography, resulting in different patterns and effects. The visitors enter the stage via a walkway and can thus themselves become actors of the work of art.
Jacqueline Hen (*1989), who studied at the University of the Arts in Berlin, has been an artistic-scientific member for basics of design / exMedia Lab at the KHM since 2017.
