Dawid Liftinger’s F 18W T8 G13 865 is a highly concentrated audio visual performance. Through a digital interface via software, Arduino and relays, the fluorescent tubes are turned on and off. All of the sound and noise that can be heard is directly produced by the tubes, recorded and amplified. What you hear is what you see. When the tubes are turned off, the performance is finished. “The Schrank” is a performance featuring the music machine and its developer / operator Axel Pulgar in lead roles. The synchronicity of image and sound is an important variable in the composition of sound artist Axel Pulgars interaction with the “Schrank” (“cabinet”) music machine. The machine creates sounds and images, controlled by an analogue/digital synthesizer control system.
