welcome: Anke Eckardt

* Beginning at the KHM: What are the things you are most looking forward to and/or are excited about?
Cooperations, indeed. We live in a century where complex questions can hardly be approached by one discipline anymore. So working transdisciplinary seems to be a key.

* What is your artistic/scientific background? What are your main starting points in being an artist and or scientist?
Linear biographies slowly become rare, don´t they? So there are a few backgrounds to mention.
As an artist, my interest lies in the complexity of aesthetic, cultural, technical and political conditions of space which seem to ambiguously merge in the way how spatial situations are audiovisually perceived.
I am furthermore part of BAU KUNST ERFINDEN, a transdisciplinary platform for research and education that pools expertise from the fields of visual art, architecture, urban planning, interaction design, acoustics, experimental physics, and materials research. It is dedicated to the development of innovative materials systems at the convergence of art and science.
Last but not least I am a trained audio engineer.

* Which three words would you use to describe yourself or your topics?
material research * audiovisual * installation/sculpture
