Yan Jun
Experimental music from Beijing
The Chinese musician and poet Yan Jun travels the world not with an instrument, but with an alert mind, which is able to transform a given situation into poetic and aesthetic experiences by means of small objects and subtle interventions.
His arsenal includes feedback and field recording as well as voice, body, environment and the play with spaces and the inconspicuous.
Of himself he says “i wish i was a piece of field recording.”
In 2016 he was a guest of the DAAD in Berlin, as a musician he is a member of the formations FEN (Far East Network) and Tea Rockers Quintet and founder of the label Sub Jam.
